Meet Martha

Martha (she/her) moved to Nashville in 2011 to work in the city’s (then) burgeoning TV & Film industry. Her passion for people & their stories drew her to the counseling profession. She has experience in various counseling settings including community-based therapy, child & adolescent mobile crisis intervention and school-based therapy. Since 2019, Martha has served as a primary therapist in the partial hospitalization & intensive outpatient programs at one of the leading eating disorder treatment facilities in the country. Martha specializes in treating eating disorders/disordered eating, body image concerns, self-worth/self-criticism, relationship issues, life transitions and women’s issues.

Martha’s approach to therapy is rooted in the power of the therapeutic relationship. She wholeheartedly believes that providing a space for someone to just be a human is essential for healing. Her style of therapy is relational, non-judgmental, strengths-based, and direct when needed. She uses an eclectic approach drawing from CBT, DBT, ACT and attachment theory.  She enjoys working with clients ranging from adolescence to older adulthood.

Outside of being a therapist, Martha enjoys hanging out with her dog Murphy (they’re equally likely to be watching TV or swimming in the Little Harpeth), trivia & game nights with friends, yoga, and starting various creative projects that will likely remain unfinished until the end of time.
